the CEE-LO GREEN changes a few words to the JOHN LENNON’s IMAGINE and hell has broken lose on New Years Day.
the ‘horror’ happened on NBC’s New Year’s Eve show shortly before the ball dropped in Times Square, when the CEE-LO was singing that IMAGINE, and changed the lyrics from “Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion too” to “Nothing to kill or die for, And all religion’s true.”
the change didn’t go unnoticed, and to preempt criticism, he soon tweeted, “Yo I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys! I was trying to say a world were u could believe what u wanted that’s all.”
that did little to comfort the LENNON angered fans, who lashed out over Twitter and since then the GREEN has deleted his tweets.
