Cue spine tingles and prepare to fall in love with Nottingham bred soul singer, the NATALIE DUNCAN.
Channeling her pain through the blues, with a strong jazz infused voice and some obvious piano skills, this daughter of a Jamaican mother and English-Greek father has recently completely her debut album, DEVIL IN ME, set for release next month, via Verve Records.
Last week I was fortunate enough to catch up with the NATALIE DUNCAN for a cup of coffee and a quick chat about her dark, bluesy and soulful music, which she doesn’t have a problem discussing but prefers to let the music do the talking.
“I’m a depressive person, I suffer from depression, and it’s that that I really don’t want to define me. That’s the reason why I say listen to my music. My outlet is singing and writing.”
Amongst a few other juicy topics, the NATALIE also talks about working with GOLDIE and how she’s recorded a new track for MAGNETIC MAN’s second album.
Ooh! Could she be the next KATY B ?
