The JACK WHITE is not a fan of social media and wants you to leave your telephones at home, or keep them put in your pockets, when attending his gigs.
At the WHITE‘s sold out gig in me birth town yesterday, a sign on the door laid down the law for punters.
The use of Twitter and Facebook was “strictly prohibited” and the sign urged fans “please leave your phones in your pockets/purses and enjoy the show live and in person.”
Pre the gig, the WHITE said that he’s making a one-man protest against the use of camera phones at concerts.
The gadgetry for the experience of a live show has gotten ridiculous. You look out and see a sea of blue screens.
The worst thing is to watch a young kid watching a show on their camera screen, instead of watching it on stage. You just want to take it out of his hand and go, ‘Come on man, that’s not what this is about’.
You tell them sir.
A coupla jpegs is fine by my but am over peeps in front of me shoving their phones in my face for the majority of the show trying to get great those Instagram jpegs.
It’s getting ridiculous.
Just Like at the Olympic ceremony all the athletes walking out on the parade while taping on their phones.
