The BEASTIE BOYS‘ surviving two members have signed a deal with Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of the Random House Publishing Group, for a book celebrating their history and aesthetic.

A title has not been chosen, but it is planned to come out in fall 2015, the publisher is expected to announce this week.

Even though it sounds like a non-them thang to do, I’d be shaking and crying right now if I wasn’t ironing my work clothes.

If your Friday to-do-list includes ‘find music for clients advert’ then you need to cross the BEASTIE BOYS off that list is the ADAM YAUCH’s will prohibits use of his music in commercials.

The last will and testament belonging to founding member, the MCA, was filed Tuesday in Manhattan Surrogate Court and reportedly contains a clause that bars advertisers from using his music, likeness, or any art he’s created in connection with hawking products.

“Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, in no event may my image or name or any music or any artistic property created by me be used for advertising purposes,” reads a copy of the will. The phrase “or any music or any artistic property created by me” was reportedly added in handwriting.

Respect. Indeed.

I’m gonna update my will to include that after I’m gone, no-one can place adverts on my blog, keep it advert-free as it’s always been.

The BEASTIE BOYS‘ he-rapper, the ADAM ‘MCA’ YAUCH, died last month and The Source magazine is honouring the legendary hip-pop-trio via a special cover story.

Rolling Stone magazine pay tribute to the late ADAM YAUCH by placing the BEASTIES BOY on the cover of their latest issue.

The BEASTIE BOYS have been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit over samples used on LICENSED TO ILL and PAUL’S BOUTIQUE.

The suit was filed on May 3, the day before the ADAM “MCA” YAUCH passed away. It’s obviously extremely unfortunate timing, but hip-hop and R&B label Tuf America is going forward with the case.

Here’s hoping this shit gets thrown out asap.

The BEASTIE BOYS co-founder, the ADAM ‘MCA’ YAUCH, has passed away at the age of 47.

It has been known that the YAUCH was being treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node back in 2007 bit it’s not clear if the death is related to the he-rapper’s battle with cancer.

Sadness.
